Internet Radio

I found an AMAZING internet radio station!

Accuradio

They have categories you can choose from including:

Classic Rocktober
A Flock of Eighties
Listening Post (discover new rock)
Celtic
Brit Rock
Twang
Broadway
Piano Jazz
High Fidelity (Indie Rock)

And on top of having such awesome options, they also give you info about the song that is playing: Song name, band name, album title, year, and a picture of the cover. AND you can skip songs, and you can click off on artists you DON'T want to hear songs from. AWESOME.

I am listening to Classic Rocktober, and learning more about bands that I have been trying to familiarize myself with for a while. Seriously, if you enjoy the luxury of listening to web radio then you should click on the link (I have already added it to my favorites!)

Whatcha gonna do wit all that breast...

...all that breast inside that shirt? I'm gonna make make make you work. Make you work work, make you work.

If you have seen me since yesterday you know that I was watching the My Humps video non-stop yesterday at work. Every time I finish I project I watch it as a treat.

You have to click on the link and watch the video and you HAVE to pay attention to what Fergie does during the red "works" in the lyrics above. And then look at Fergie's and will.i.am's facial expressions.

other great moments to watch for:

1. Every time will.i.am goes "Ohhh" after they say "she's got me spendin'"
2. The dance move the girls do when they say "Make you scream, make you scream."
3. The dance moves during the "Imma start some drama, you don't want no drama." part...Fergie looks really silly.
4. The way Fergie sticks out her butt when she says, "And move my hump."
5. The way Fergie sticks her chest out when she says, "In the front" and the facial expression she makes.
6. After #5, the dance move will.i.am does during his "Ohhh"
7. All the random and amazing stuff that goes on during the breathing part
8. Finally, the little chuckle Fergie gives at the end.

what's that you say? I am spending too much time watching this video...yes, that's true, but it's not gonna stop me from watching it at least 5 more times, and wishing that Toast wasn't retro so they would play the song and I could bust out my moves tonight!

Spring Bloom

I know this isn't the right season, but this is how I've been feeling all day:

These are the days that you'll remember
Never before and never since, I promise, will the whole world be warm as this.
And as you feel it, you’ll know it’s true that you are blessed and lucky.
It’s true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.

These are days you’ll remember.
When may is rushing over you with desire to be part of the miracles you see in every hour.
You’ll know it’s true that you are blessed and lucky.
It’s true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.

These are days.
These are the days you might fill with laughter until you break.
These days you might feel a shaft of light make it’s way across your face.
And when you do you’ll know how it was meant to be.
See the signs and know their meaning.
It’s true, you’ll know how it was meant to be.
Hear the signs and know they’re speaking to you, to you.

Things are all coming together for me, and the world feels so full of possibility!

Queereoke

Last night after football practice I went out with my team to a bar where "Queereoke" was being held. Yes, it was as much fun as it sounds! We all decided (it wasn't the whole team- I think there were like 6 of us) to sing a song together, and I foolishly mentioned that I thought "Sweet Caroline" would make a good kareoke song. Just in case you were wondering- "Sweet Caroline" is NOT a good kareoke song, the chorus is too high and the song is too slow. But we had fun and that's what counts.

A little later when the bar had gotten more full, the "DJ" decided to sing "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. He was massacring the words and I was singing along and complaining. Linda told me that I should go up and join in, but I just shook off her suggestion. Then he said it, "Anyone who wants to come up and take over for me is welcome." So, with a couple beers in me, I shakily got up and took the stage. The song was only a fourth of the way through so I had a ways to go. Then something amazing happened, people stopped what they were doing and paid attention, and cheered me on, and sang with me- I am not ashamed to admit that I did a good job, and it was really fun. Afterward my teammates all congratulated me and told me I had a good voice and such. Then something weird happened.

Random girls started coming up to me to tell me I had a good voice. Keep in mind that I had come from football practice- I looked grubby, bag shirt and sweat pants with hair pulled back in a frizzy half pony. But somehow, despite my appearance i was being hit on more than I am accustomed to, and one of these girls was relentlessly throwing looks my way.

So if you ever find yourself at a kareoke bar trying to impress the ladies- Billy Joel is where it's at.

And if you find yourself in JP (Jamaica Plaine Massachusetts) on a Thursday night go over to the
Midway....it's a wicked good time!
